Kevin McCarthy Is Getting Scared As His Red Wave Turns Blue

BY JASON EASLEY

Kevin McCarthy Is Getting Scared As His Red Wave Turns Blue

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has gone from predicting a 2010 style red wave to claiming that Democrats are rigging the midterm election.

"SNIP.......

Remember what else is happening now, redistricting as we watch what happens in New York. So egregious that forever gerrymandering will be known as Jerry Nadler’s district. They are actually taking who they want. They will steal another four seats, and the reason why Pelosi announced she will run and now they are stealing elections in different places by redistricting and gerrymandering these, she believes she can win even though overwhelmingly the public says they want a change. They want to secure border and inflation with safe and secure streets, but the Democratic policies are causing most of the problems.

McCarthy later expanded on his claim that Democrats are stealing the 2022 midterm election, “ You had Eric Holder and Barack Obama going to the last decade and run Democrats left-leaning Democrats or state supreme court, and they are upholding this egregious maps, even the left-leaning Brennan Center says it’s wrong. No one stands with this map except the Democrats, and, interestingly, they started doing the extreme gerrymandering after Nancy Pelosi announced she would run for reelection. They cannot win on merit and policies, so now they want to rig the system to be able to keep control of the power.”

Kevin McCarthy Is Getting Scared Because Democratic Odds Are Improving In The Midterm Election

Republicans have seen courts throw out their gerrymandered maps in Ohio and North Carolina, with the Democratic majority Pennsylvania Supreme Court set to settle a map dispute in the Keystone State.

With the economy booming and COVID cases declining, the political climate that McCarthy was counting on to power a red wave in November is evaporating.

End these ads by showing what the tRumpliQans will do with short footage of J6 and ask voters to vote for saving our democracy.

More and more we're hearing that Dems are actually doing better this cycle in re-assigning seats in several states.

I'm not a fan of gerrymandering in general, but if repubs continue to do it, we have to fight back where we can.

Dem states weren't as gerrymandered as Republican ones, so while Republican ones re-gerrymandered to maintain their advantage, Dems gerrymandered too and gained seats. The census and redistricting will hand Dems a few House seats net.

And here in Michigan, the state Senate has been unrigged and could finally go blue.

Good to see Dems play dirty too.

Play those cards right! Get on top of the messaging. I love the almost continuous play of January 6th footage, and some of the ads are just, well, they're amazingly devastating for Republicans.

I think the GOP cut its own throat last week, with the censure of Cheney and Kinzinger, and their declaration about January 6th being "legitimate political discourse." Two huge mistakes there.

Nashville/Davidson county (TN5) has elected Democrats to the House for decades, if not longer.

The new maps have cut Davidson County into several parts thus splitting the dependably Democratic 5th and scattering the pieces amongst several other dependably Republican districts. Same thing in Memphis/Shelby county which is heavily Democratic. The governor has signed off on the map.

I hope the lawsuit was written and ready to drop the next day.

That is an automatic drop of 2 Democratic seats, if the map can't be revised. I think here in TX we are only losing one Democratic seat due to the combining of two Democratic districts into one, forcing the incumbents to either run against one another in a primary or play rock paper scissors to decide which one stays on the ballot.

And recruit new members into the party buy using, first, the German 193 hyper-inflation and then, in 1932, the Great Depression.

Authoritarians need crisis to move their ideas forward.

I said this in a previous post. Four conditions need to be met, then four things need to happen.

In class, I teach that if a group wants to take over, there needs to be four conditions met:
1: Widespread fear (people aren't afraid now)
2: Widespread poverty (people, for the most part, aren't poor)
3: Widespread anger (most people aren't angry)
4: Widespread hopelessness (with things turning around, there is no hopelessness, especially on the COVID front)

As soon as those conditions are met, all a despot needs to do is four simple things:
1: Blame the current government for the condition (Biden is hammering home how things are getting better and the BBB)
2: Find a scapegoat (most of the scapegoating the GOP is doing is actually beginning to work against them)
3: Portray yourself at the answer to all your problems (Things Biden is doing shows he's working to end problems)
4: Manufacture and exploit a crisis (there really isn't an overwhelming crisis)

So, the GOP is now nervous their propagandistic messaging is failing.
