Remember those "wild-eyed kooks" who made those "rash and divisive" predictions a few

years ago that if Trump lost the 2020 election he would not go peacefully, would never concede and would never cooperate with a peaceful transition of power?

Some of the same "kooks" are now predicting that Republican state legislatures and election officials will simply override any outcome that does not favor Trump and "install" him back in office in 2024.

Boy oh boy! SOME PEOPLE, huh?

The nuts Supreme Court have shown a hint that they believe the “state legislature is supreme” theory.

This theory says the state legislature has the final say of what electors get sent to Washington. It says the legislature can revoke, at any time, the authority the legislature granted to state voters. The theory also says by legislature they mean legislature - not the commonly accepted definition that says legislature means the legislature, Governor and state Secretary of State.

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

The fear in 2020 was the election would go down to Pennsylvania (it would have minus the upsets in Georgia and Arizona) and the legislature could send two sets of electors - one signed by the Democratic Governor and Secretary of State and one signed by the legislature. Pence may have had the choice which set to open.

As it turned out, the Republican leader of the Pennsylvania legislature put the kibosh on any talk of different electors. I still maintain it may have been a whole different story without Georgia and Arizona.

Now maybe Vice President Harris can refuse to open one set. Does the Supreme Court get to have a say in what she does? Maybe she can tell them to fuck off. Does it then go to The House?

We may have the mother of all Constitutional crises on our hands. Hopefully even republicans will be sick of trumps shit by then and he gets crushed even harder.

them that way. All informed observers were concerned about this possibility. But I know what you mean. If more people had listened to them in 2016,... Even a few.
