So this showed up in my email this morning. Never heard of the place, have definitely not bought anything there. It isn't showing up (yet) on my bank account, have reported it as phishing.
Anyone else getting this thing?

I get several Nortons purchase notifications daily and I would never use Nortons. Theyre just looking for us to pop our heads up like prairie dogs so they can pick us off. Dont take the bait.

They are Phishing emails wanting access to information that SHOULD be shared. I get these from a fake Square as well.

(53,776 posts)and to press 1 to clear it up. I did just to listen to their bullshit for a while. The person started by first telling me my address. I told yes, that's correct. He then asked for my SS number so I decided that was far enough and told him I wouldn't give him my number and that this was all a big scam and hung up.
A few days later I got a similar call so I decided to play with then again. This time I let them get as far as asking for my SS number again before I told the guy that Social Security never calls, they send letters, then I called him a scammer and hung up.
The third scam call a couple of weeks later, avoided asking for my SS number and skirted my saying SS never calls they send letters. He responded by saying that I must clear this up and to get my information in order and to call him back to avoid arrest. He then proceed to give me his name, phone number and pager number.
I stopped him right there and said: "Pager? Did you say pager?"
He then hung up immediately as he knew he had fucked up as no one uses pagers anymore, except in some scammer outfits in India maybe.

How to answer spam phone calls...
Keep asking: What is your name?
... until you get an answer.
What is your company/org name?
... until you get an answer.
What is your company/org address?
... until you get an answer.
What is your company/org phone number?
... until you get an answer.
What number can I get in contact with you?
... until you get an answer.
So what if they lie?
You're just going to hang up on them anyway.
Even better if you say 'sorry, not interested'.
.
Their time is also important to them.

(53,032 posts)but I get phishing emails nearly every day. Notice how the email address isn't from Paypal. That makes it obvious it's a scam. I lot of times the email addresses are full of tons of letters, numbers, and syllables.
