5. I now have three cats

We lost Sophie in December, and we couldn’t tolerate it with out feline companionship. I adopted three - a Russian Blue and two black Manx.

I'm so glad I decided to get Madoc a brother, so soon after losing Morgan and my Sophie. They bonded so fast, with each other and also with me. They are pure joy.

8. It feels so good to have a fun purpose to my life, again.

My first few years of retirement were spent dealing the family deaths and the aftermath. Too much grief.

Now I can watch and take care of my boys and my lovely outdoor feline family, If I ever actually get to pick up Mittens the Kitten, I'll be popping open a bottle of bubbly to celebrate!
