I don't doubt there are other things in his possession.

Just a picture, though.

No normal person has a gold toilet, just tin pots and dictators.
It's one of the requirements to join their club. Gouache golden decor.
You know, the toilet designed to handle double-wide deuces.

all along when the mess with tfg in the WH began we had all these pundits and 'experts' tell us what people of integrity many of the people involved were. Remember how they said Barr would do the right thing? That Mueller was the very best and certainly Comey was given a pass. But when push came to shove all these 'wonderfuls' turned out to be tragically flawed. Nicole Wallace played the tape of Comey saying tfg should be pardoned and then reported about the 15 boxes and how they asked him/his office for a comment. Crickets. As far as I'm concerned, they have all aided and abetted.

(51,565 posts)I remember seeing someone walking out with a bust/sculpture under his arm, like he casually took it while walking to his car. I am sure tons of stuff is missing. Whatever isn't nailed down probably got snuck out.

I would be shocked and amazed to find out that he DIDN'T filch anything that wasn't securely nailed down. He's such a greedy pig. He probably thought the tiny amount that he paid out in taxes entitled him to take what he wanted.

(32,074 posts)Designers frequently loan out expensive clothing to the First Lady, especially gowns for big occasions. (They often do it for exposure.) How many of items of loaned clothing did Malaria walk off with?

(14,061 posts)Think its been done before. But then, theres the question of what kind of shape its in when its returned. Sometimes designers get clothing back thats been totally trashed.
As for Trump, if the GSA has not been taking inventory of White House fixtures, etc., between outgoing and incoming administrations, it probably should start doing so. (Another issue that was never a problem pre-Trump.) To put it crudely, its like stealing from a hotel room. If its missing, youre liable for it. Same should apply here.
GoCubsGo
(32,074 posts)I have no doubt they've been taking inventory, as they always have. Everything above a certain value has a GSA inventory label on it. I used to work at a federal facility. Even the buildings have numbers. It takes time for them to do inventories, but if anything of value is missing, we'll find out about it eventually.
I remember when the Clintons left, and took some presidential gifts with them. It was a HUGE scandal. Most gifts from foreign dignitaries and the public become federal property. It's a fine line as to what is or is not, though. Apparently, the Clintons unintentionally crossed that line. No doubt, Trump has, as well. But, guaranteed the media will look the other way this time.

(35,454 posts)but no one has said how she knew. Also, as a guess, I would surmise that lower level staffers might have squealed on the thief.
Update: Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney, the chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee, announced plans overnight to fully investigate the appearance of 15 boxes of documents and other items at the Mar-a-Lago resort.
The reporting on former President Trumps apparent removal of presidential records and his failure to turn the records over to the National Archives for over a year is deeply troubling but not surprising, the New York congresswoman told the Post in a statement last night.
I sounded the alarm in December 2020 about the danger that the former president and senior Trump Administration officials were not properly transferring presidential records to the National Archives and unfortunately, we now know that was the case. I plan to fully investigate this incident to ensure the law is followed and records from the Trump Administration are with the National Archives where they belong, rather than stashed away in Trumps golf resorts.
