Class? Bueller? Anyone?

On the heels of all that's been exposed about Trump over the past few weeks, it seems almost unbelievable that the GOP has yet to respond to any of it.

Where are the phrases we've become accustomed to hearing over the past few years, e.g. "taken out of context", "no big deal", "perfectly logical explanation", and the ever-popular "both sides do it."

Could it be that Trump's blatantly illegal actions are being revealed at such a fast pace, even Republican spin-meisters can't keep up with the barrage?

Maybe they're putting their heads together to come up with a story about how Joe Biden forced Trump to destroy official documents, how Nancy Pelosi tricked Jim Jordan into lying about his January 6th phone calls, how forged elector documents originated with Antifa, and how Adam Schiff spirited fifteen boxes of official documents out of the WH and shipped them to Mara-Lago in the dead of night.

Or maybe they'll just blame everything on Mike Pence, Lindsey Graham, and all those other sycophants who kissed Trump's lard-ass for years, but have now been relegated to RINO status because they said something the Orange Anus didn't like.

Eventually, the GOP is going to have to address everything that's come out thus far, and everything that is undoubtedly going to be revealed in the days and weeks to come.

Supporters are going to want to hear the "perfectly logical" explanations for Trump's seemingly illegal behaviour, just as they've counted on in the past. They're going to want to know that he's totally innocent of any wrongdoing - and they're relying on the GOP to prove it, and not let those lyin' Democrats have the last word.

I don't know what spin the Republicans are working on. But I've no doubt it's going to be ludicrous, laughable - and wildly entertaining.

How do you blame Democrats for Trump destroying official documents? How do you blame Democrats for fifteen boxes of official documents winding up at Mara-Lago?

That's my point. They are truly painted into a corner with the most recent revelations - and the GOP's silence is telling.

They usually have a quick response to any allegations against Dear Leader - but this time, they have nothing to say.

Democrats are constantly tearing up documents illegally! This must be stopped!
Democrats hoard mountains of documents illegally all the time! They must return all of them or be jailed until they do!
There must be a massive investigation into these Democrat illegal activities.

Cmon GOP! Haven’t you learned anything from Trump yet?

Invent some crime and claim their strongest enemy Democrat committed it and never letting up on the tsunami of false accusations. We could learn a thing or two about fighting in the trenches and the back alleys from them. They leave bodies behind.

Most of the media seem to have an unwritten rule to always find false equivalents. “The left and right are both wrong and dangerous” and on and on.

Sometimes the GOP and the MSM run out of wiggle room - and I believe this is one of those times.

They'll shift to Hillary's emails without taking into account that Hillary neither broke no law nor violated any statute.
Stealing presidential documents is a clear violation of the law as is election fraud. Election fraud is a felony, while voter fraud does not demand exposure to federal prison and state sanctions. One demands breaking rocks in the hot sun and the other is a slap on the wrist. One changes election results and the other has no influence on election outcomes.
So let them bring out the stained blue dress. You know they will.
Everything changes once the lying starts.

Trump-humpers have always looked to the GOP to explain/excuse Trump's actions and statements.

They need to believe that Republicans have Dear Leader's back, and have a "logical' explanation for his behaviour - and any lack thereof is interpreted as a lack of support for their Messiah.

Any allegations of Trump's wrongdoing that are not swiftly met with a counter argument are seen as "caving to the Dems" and letting them have the last word.

"Eventually, the GOP is going to have to address everything that's come out thus far, and everything that is undoubtedly going to be revealed in the days and weeks to come".

What color is the sky on your planet? The GOP will not address anything that they have done and the pandering press will gleefully follow along. The Democrats for all their bluster about people paying for their crimes (the GOP is nothing more than a crime syndicate now) will always look the other way as the Republicans deal behind their backs.

They can't arrest anyone... can't indict anyone... can't fire anyone.... they can't do jack shit other than point a finger that the GOP will laugh at. This country was sold down the river when Reagan was elected and the slope is getting steeper. If it wasn't for my wife I would have moved from this country years ago.

it's because the rich including greedy corporations support the repubs. Look at the MSM. They either don't report the good Biden & the Dems are doing or they give it very little coverage. Who would have thought the repubs support Putin because the Dems are against him? It boggles the mind.

Seems to me they're probably too hung up on the implications to national security posed by Hunter Biden's laptop than anything legitimate. Maybe they'll circle back to Hillary. But I guarantee, even if there are hearings in the spring, FOX will be focusing on Nancy Pelosi's evil chihuahua or something equally inane.

... the fact that they've given up on spin - something they've been masters at, especially where Trump is concerned.

There was a time when any allegation against Trump was immediately countered with an 'explanation' of how there was no wrongdoing, along with outrage that such accusations had been made.

But this time around, there is nothing but silence.

After five years of defending the indefensible with slick cover-his-ass PR, they've finally run out of wiggle room.
