Chicago Trib (conservative newspaper) comes out anti big lie:

Trib's editorial board:

Jan. 6, 2021, the day a mob of Donald Trump loyalists carried out an insurrection against the Capitol, is etched in the minds of Americans. No doubt historians will memorialize that terrible, ugly day as a nadir in American democracy, a moment of shame that indelibly scarred the nation.

And yet, the Republican Party has set out to brand Jan. 6 as exactly that. The insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol with the aim of nullifying the free and fair election of an American president were simply exercising “legitimate political discourse,” the Republican National Committee decided at its winter meeting last week in Salt Lake City.

The party also overwhelmingly voted to censure two of its own, Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming, for their participation in the ongoing House select committee investigation into the insurrection and the events leading up to it.

That would be an exercise in legitimate politics. What the Republican Party did last week wasn’t just self-serving. It was self-destructive.

Grandma used to ask him why he got that paper when it made him so angry, he said you need to keep up with the nonsense they are spewing so you know what is coming down the pike.

When it folded Royko went to the Sun Times, and when that was sold ge jumped to the Tribune.

After Royko passed away he was replaced by John Kass, a rightwing hack I couldn't stand. I'm so glad he's gone now, but I miss Eric Zorn since the Trib was sold.

My wide has gotten the Trib delivered since before we met, so that's our household newspaper. It's always leaned Republican but endorsed Trump's opponents in both elections, and gas called the Big Lie a lie from the start.

tolerate bizarre occult BS, there is Coast to Coast for RW extremist politics. They are an all night AM radio talk show. Currently they are running ads for a campaign to "expose the truth" about Nancy Pelosi. The "Give it back, Nancy" promo attacks her for her wealth and says she should give it all back to the everyday people who need it.

They also run ads for Newsmax, and claim that covid was deliberately created in a plot to disrupt free governments. They oppose mask and vaccine mandates for the sake of American liberty.

Alex Jones is a friend of Coast to Coast host George Noory and has been a guest on the show several times - until he became too criminally hot to continue.

The show's programs are insane, but good for laughs - alien invaders as the source of ancient civilizations, deep state government conspiracies, hybrid people (half space alien, half human), etc.

They also advertise for survival food kits, and conversion of IRA accounts to gold in order to prepare for an "increasingly uncertain world."

It really is entertaining. Disturbing but entertaining.

The late night has always been the playground for extrapolated stream of consciousness from Larry King to Imus to the dusty preacher guy who just sat and rambled on (my brother used to watch him).

Survival food and gold GOLD are staples. Our local guys (AM and PM drive time) have about 20-25 minutes of actual content every hour with their own voiceover ads for home improvement, mortgage refinance, and restaurants filling the rest.

At least I learned about how to determine which papers were conservative and which were not. Remember how they always had a biased editorial cartoon right on the front page?

The problem is that when it comes time to vote, they will decide that THEIR representative or Senator is an OK person. It's the other ones that are bad and they will still vote Republican. They just can't get themselves to vote for a Democrat.

Hope I'm wrong.
