Please help me out here!

With all of this talk about towns/cities/states "lifting the mask mandates because the number of covid cases have dropped".....I have to think that maybe the cases have dropped BECAUSE of the mask mandates!! Am I wrong??

I am really worried about dropping required masks in school. Even if parents ask their kids to wear them peer pressure is powerful. We will regret this. Cases will rise again.
I think there must be intense lobbying to end the mandates.

...but I was referring to the big industries. They really don't care about us--just their bottom line.

Last July, covid cases dropped enough that I went out to eat with family. Within a week, when mask mandates were rescinded, covid cases rose significantly. I went back to grocery shopping at 6am and avoiding people.

I believe that the same will happen again this time. Please let me be wrong.

I just make more distance between us. Funny though, the gruff guys who look like they have a problem with my mask, if I say something nice to them, they suddenly smile and say something nice back. Kind of surprised me the first couple times, but they aren't tourists either.

.

Treat all as a possible infection vector, but treat those without masks as a high-risk infection vector.

I am convinced that masking works. I am now vaxxed AND boosted and I still wear a mask at all times when I am away from home.

It’s just stupid not to do it if it provides any protection at all.

We'll mask up on the way up and ditch the masks on the way down.

People here are still required to wear masks in shops, government offices, etc., though the mandate will disappear soon. I'll be interested to see how many continue to wear them.
