Another man taken off transplant waiting list after refusing COVID-19 vaccine

A South Carolina man says he has been taken off the waiting list for a kidney transplant for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Jason Wilson undergoes daily dialysis in order to flush the toxins out of his body because his kidneys cannot.

A new kidney would fix the problem, but Wilson is declining to be vaccinated and now, he says, he is being taken off the transplant waiting list. He said he had been on the list for more than a year waiting for a kidney. The average survival rate for a kidney transplant is 96.8 percent

But he received a letter warning him that, without vaccination, he would lose his spot.
Faced with what would seem like an obvious choice to many, Wilson has, apparently, decided it’s not worth it.

“I was born a free man,” he told The Greenville News. “We have a right to decide and choose to make our own decisions. And health is actually a private matter.”
“Being stubborn as I am, I guess, I don’t see me giving up my rights to give into them, just for me to get the kidney,” he said.

We don't give kidneys or livers to active alcoholics.
We don't give lungs or hearts to smokers or coke addicts. We don't give bone marrow to heroin addicts.

His transplant team explained med compliance with while he waits. If he's not vaccinated, then he gets bumped down. That's it. He's not off the list, he's just not qualified now. After his transplant, he'd have to take immunosuppressants, which means he'd be more susceptible to lethal covid without the vax.

My husband followed his nephrologist's instructions to the letter, and we were lucky enough to get a kidney for him.

No sympathy for this guy.

Went UP after my vaccination. I fought and worked hard to get it down to the lowest, a 6 in these 6 years after quitting drinking and being end stage liver cirrhosis. My Drs say I cannot take any of the vaccines now with all the other side effects. Guess I’m fucked by y’all’s standards if I need a new liver. Humans like y’all disgust me.
