Trumpy Colorado County Clerk Tina Peters Arrested After Resisting Search Warrant "LET GO OF ME!"

Tina Peters, the clerk of Mesa County, Colorado who’s long been suspected of involvement in a leak of county election machine data last year, was arrested Tuesday morning.

Local outlets reported the arrest soon after. A video from Kyle Clark, a journalist with local NBC affiliate 9 News, appeared to show the arrest occurring:

Peters is a celebrated figure among believers that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump. The Colorado Secretary of State’s office successfully sued to have Peters and a deputy, Belinda Knisley, removed from election duties last year after sensitive digital information from Mesa County’s voting machines was shared online by a prominent QAnon influencer, and in-person at Mike Lindell’s “Cyber Symposium” in Sioux Falls in August.

We have a Trumpy county clerk here too. When the pandemic started she made a big ado about wearing a mask. She raised all kinds of hell on local TV stations about having breathing problems, when in fact her coworkers said she was lying. One TV reporter asked her if she could breathe with a face shield? She really blew up at that, but she was still allowed to go maskless in this red county.

According to a search warrant issued Tuesday morning in Mesa County Court, officers were attempting to obtain an Apple iPad tablet computer with a white keyboard case in Peters's possession. Authorities intended to review data "believed to have been created, viewed, accessed, modified, deleted, downloaded or saved" between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, when they suspect Peters recorded proceedings in a courtroom where use of electronic recording devices is forbidden.
