Republican politicians are in so deep now, they feel there is no turning back. For so long, they built their party on lies and hypocrisy, there was no real substance to sustain it. One dumb reality TV star came along and blew it all away. I think it was inevitable. If it hadn't been Trump, it would have been someone else. I'm sure Putin had other candidates in mind.
