(3,041 posts)this, but I don't see things changing in medical facilities and critical points such as care facilities and elderly care.
An end to mandates doesn't mean a ban, and the people where it counts the most will likely still require them, hopefully permanently.
Covid shouldn't have had to happen for people to start finally practicing better behaviors to mitigate viral outbreaks, but here we are.
Wash your hands, don't touch your face should have been something we all have done all along, masking around the most vulnerable, all those things. I hope we continue to do so.
I have high hopes that the right people will remain active in mitigation efforts.

(17,191 posts)Its a freaking merry-go-round. We have got to stop worrying about who we offend, and worry about who we will kill.
Masks work.

(18,655 posts)With kids in school, after school activities, I work in healthcare, and my husband construction. But we have a county-wide mask mandate. And a high vax rate.
Im STILL wearing a mask when this is overturned.

(10,240 posts)They simply announced their intention to do so in the coming weeks, when cases should have declined even further.

(9,713 posts)At any given time in public, anywhere from 70 -90% of the people I see are wearing masks. In fact, recently it seems that even more people are masking.
Although for some of the loudmouths this is a political event, for many (even right-wingers) it's a matter of common sense.
If you live in a place that currently has mandates, don't be surprised that a lot more people continue to mask than you'd believe.
Now if the word is put out by Fauci that COVID no longer poses the danger that it has in the past...now THEN you may see people throwing off their masks (foolishly) in triumph.

I thought you were saying those were future projections/continued trends.

(2,472 posts)At least according to my casino host. Gov Sisolak is supposed to announce it tomorrow, possibly taking effect as soon as this weekend in order to end it before Super Bowl weekend.

(9,212 posts)We will continue to wear kn95 and sd as much as possible. Tg received notice that my school is not following the gov change on masks in public places. They are following suny policies. As soon as you have any drop in cases deemed enough they remove mandates etc. due to political pressure. They always do it too soon, so usually any gains are lost and more will suffer.
It has been a half assed approach if that from the start.
