8. What I don't understand about the Canadian situation is why...

...the police don't simply arrest the protesters, take their keys, and drive their trucks off to an impound lot somewhere? It doesn't make sense to me that causing major traffic disruptions is (to borrow a phrase now in vogue) "legitimate political discourse", even if the Canadian legal system is a bit different from ours.
