Oh hell yes!! The internet's has GAZPACHO POLICE memes

Much overused gif but this is me this morning

So this morning I see a tweet from Todd Starnes about Empty Greene. It was a transcript of what she said. The whole point of the former Fox News moron Starnes’s twitter seems to be for people to make fun of him. Everyone was replying “she didn’t say gestapo” as was in the transcript. Okay...no idea, then I see a clip on Morning Joe (Simpson’s Seinfeld Oliver Twist etc) and it all came together and I was howling laughing.

I can remember times I enjoyed listening to our legislators because they were smart and put their words together so nicely. You certainly cannot count on that anymore.

This is all funny but nothing is better than that simple tweet by AOC.

What a country.

They have chopped Dem cities out of NE counties and stuck them in with the farthest West counties. They are going to get away with it I fear unless the few Dems we have remember how they took care of this under Brownback. My god it sucks so much right now.

Family there. My brother in law is a Republican- his folks are new Deal Union Dems.

She can’t lose there. BUT, she put in the work. Soccer fields and baseball diamonds on weekends. A friendly drive thru place let her press the flesh at their place. She put in the work. I have to give her that.

I remember when the Lions of the Senate came out to roar. Kennedy Byrd Dole John Warner etc. and it was worth watching just for the speech writing and presentation. I know she’s in the House but even there it used to be you got in there, started raising money, and did a few specific things to go back to your constituents with that. Now it’s out outraging each other everyday. Chasing after their own propaganda tail.

I have family that live in Empty Greene’s district. They think she’s a joke but she’ll never lose there.

I first encountered her in the Nixon hearings. I was so impressed with her.

Turns out, in high school she was the debate partner of a very well respected editor of romance novels and the founder of Romance Writers of America (which, sadly, is in death throes because of racism). And, Stacy Abrams writes romance. We romance writers are a very impressive bunch.

They exemplified an ideal of those who represented us in the halls of Congress. They inspired us and helped us to have confidence in and respect for the offices held.
Now we have brazen liars, jacket-less goofs, jean wearing mouthpieces, and garbage spewing clowns.

absolutely no idea what I was talking about in something I'd read related to his field.

I'd already come to realize he was very conservative and begun to suspect he might have a tendency to mine the thick books he always had with him for confirmation of his beliefs. I didn't suspect the half of it.

We often wonder at the intense ignorance of people who simply aren't interested in knowing anything that conflicts with what they believe, or often anything at all, but here it was, impossibly, in someone who imagined he was, and managed to get work as, a scholar and academic.

A lot of things bring him to mind these days. Like Empty and her nonexistent book shelf.
