Alaska finally has a Democratic Senate candidate...

My name is Elvi Gray-Jackson – and I'm running for the U.S. Senate in Alaska.

I grew up as one of seven children living in New Jersey public housing. After graduating high school I worked for Bell Telephone Company as an Executive Secretary, that was until they fired me for being pregnant.

That's when I decided to relocate to Alaska – where I've called home for the past 40 years.

I needed a fresh start and I was drawn by everything Alaska had to offer. From the welcoming community and great schools, I knew that this is where I wanted to raise my son.

Everyday, working families choose to get up and provide for their children. Just as my parents did and just as I did. But everyday choices are becoming more and more difficult. But it's evident that our elected leaders are trying to take away our freedom to choose. From the right to vote to a woman's right to choose – they are choosing to defend the broken status quo.

That's exactly why I'm running for Senate.

Watch our launch video, share it with your family and neighbors, if you can, please chip in $5, $10, $15 or anything you can to help me start this campaign off strong >>

Thanks for joining us on this journey -- I'm looking forward to what's ahead.

– Elvi

She's a State Senator; no idea if she'll be competitive.

If she can be a competitive fundraiser, I imagine she can be a competitive candidate. Time will tell, and thanks for sharing!
