"Classified" and "Top Secret" documents to Mar-A-Lago when he left the White House: "Has he sold any yet?"
I have not heard any mention of this by those reporting about the theft, but is it at all unreasonable to suspect?

(7,845 posts)Trump has zero cognitive awareness...in his twisted mind he's a brilliant businessman as well as a brilliant statesman...and anyone who cannot see his wonderfulness is stupid, lazy, weak blah blah blah....when he stiffs lawyers, contractors, scams the IRS/ banks, cons his followers into pouring money into his private coffers, it only feeds into his self-serving ego and affirms "I can stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose voters "...I think the top secret documents, Kim Jong-Un love letters, Sharpie weather map, and every piece of paper he didn't shred, flush, or eat is going on display in his President Donald J. Trump Library..and because he's a self serving narcissistic conman, he'll charge his idiotic enablers/worshippers big bucks for the privilege of scanning highly classified documents...

Maybe it's just a stone miracle that America is still somewhat of a country at this point, all things considered

(4,461 posts)simply endear himself to the authoritarian interests he admired and/or was indebted to. What would stop him from telling them anything they wanted to know?

(10,279 posts)him a list of secret documents to be delivered to Russia?
I hope the House forms another committee to investigate the details of the secret documents removed (stolen?) from the White House. In TFG's term, what secret documents did he ever possess and which ones are now missing? I (as hopefully our counter-espinage agencies do) suspect that as part of his arrangement with Putin, TFG has given to them most of what he could get his hands on.

(27,813 posts)A failed "pResident" steals classified documents - bad enough on its own.
Add the fact that said "pResident" is drowning in debt due to mounting legal fees, business losses, and loan payments on his properties coming due - hmmmm.

(4,999 posts)1) Most likely -- he thought he was going to be reinstalled as POTUS sometime in Feb and took the documents for "safe keeping" so prying eyes wouldn't discover them in the interim.
2) Sell them
3) He's such a narcissist -- he wanted momentos of the shit he got away with for four years.

(2,262 posts)Those defaulting loans won't pay themselves -- so Putin's puppet bank (Deutchbank) will liekly take classified documents in lieu of payments or receive payments form others for the docs.
I would guess a lot of what was stolen was done to cover up potential criminality of himself and Ivanka (let the others twist in the wind).

(15,220 posts)With Trump, it is always about money. He will sell them (or has already sold them) to the highest bidder.
Much of what he does makes me believe that he is trying to keep Putin happy - whether by being in debt financially to him, or by understanding that Putin kills those who cross him or are no longer valuable to him.

(21,304 posts)but he could allow a Trump tower in Moscow for Top Secret information. I hope we got all of our spies out of Russia before Trump took over.

(10,133 posts)He's been wanting a building in Moscow for quite a few years: I'm sure Putin was sweetening the deal by promising to pick up the building costs and just let him slap his name on it. Just send a few of those boring documents Vlad's way.
I'm just as worried about what the Saudis have been dangling in front of him: we know Jared's debts on at least one property were suddenly paid off.

(50,554 posts)Tovarich, we will deduct $2000 from your debt for every Confidential document, $5000 for every Secret document, $10,000 for every Top Secret document and an additional $5000 for every code word-protected document. We will deduct $50,000 for every document that has NOFORN printed on it, regardless of classification.
He was probably passing them over during his golf trips.
