Lauren Boebert holding up a hottest woman in Congress award.
The certificate spelled her name incorrectly and came with a Red Lobster gift card.

(34,750 posts)She's all about appearances, and nothing about actual accomplishments. Granted, she has no real accomplishments to brag about.

...if I were to put on my basic brained, "00s Harvard Mark Zuckerberg" hat for just a second, I would actually go with California Congresswoman Sarah Jacobs even moreso than AOC.

Of course, both Congresswomen Jacobs and Ocasio-Cortez qualify as "women of accomplishment."
Lauren Boebert does not.

BTW in "hot congresspersons" I like the brain on Chrissy Houlahan
Stanford University (BS)
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MS)
BTW our talent pool in smart congress critters goes way deep and none of them had to drop out of high school
in 11th grade after getting pregnant too.

(42,862 posts)Your comment was "The "hottest woman in Congress" Please" Obviously, taken in context and observed as a whole... the underlying message is something along the lines of Oh, please... Boebert isn't hot, but here's someone who actually is hot.
I'm not really sure how else it could be interpreted. --- Truthfully, I have no problems at all in laughing at and ridiculing someone like Boebert who wants to do stupid things like boasting about being "hot". But holding up one of our own as an alternative (or genuine example) of someone who's "hot" ... well... no.

(53,003 posts)They also left off a word. Shouldnt that be hottest-HEADED woman in Congress? And even there you run into serious competition for the prize, since Marjorie Greene and Elise Stefanik still have their seats.

So adolescent.
In fact, Boebe(a)rt puts adolescents to shame. What a feat!

(5,081 posts)If someone gave me a certificate for being the hottest person at my workplace, Id probably laugh uncomfortably and toss it in the garbage at the first opportunity. Lets make it clear: I am definitely not hot. But I wouldnt want my value at the workplace diminished to that. I dont know how women deal with that crap and remain sane. I also cant imagine being dimwitted enough to find that flattering.
