Ford is considering flying car parts to its Canada factory, which closed down due to supply shortage

Ford is looking at flying car parts to a shut-down factory after a blockade caused by protesting Canadian truckers cut off the supply of assembly parts, Reuters reported.

The carmaker's engine plant in Windsor, Ontario, which was reportedly closed due to supply shortages, may receive auto parts by plane rather than truck, an official of the union which represents workers at the factory told Reuters on Thursday.

"We are looking at all options to keep our plants running," a spokesperson for Ford's Canadian division told Reuters.

Ford didn't immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Because idiots are blocking traffic for their parts?

That Ford plant is a union plant- I looked it up. Do any of those probably non union truckers really want to mess with a union plant getting shut down over their tantrum?

It's a small but very loud group of truckers that are messing with the lives of so many.

They are not union truckers. The CTA has denounced and condemned them, as has Teamsters.

Seems to be to steal every available Ford truck and strip it bare.

I wouldn’t own a Ford truck right now in this town.

water, etc.? How are they surviving?

Does it make any sense for the authorities to block them in right where they are and wait? I know they are being disruptive, but what can stop this idiocy?

I know there is an unrelated class action suit from the Ottowa citizens. It seems like they have been directly impacted and could demand compensation.

the battle will be on.

Silly, isn't it? Over a simple thing like wearing a mask to help others and taking a vaccine to help yourself.
