The Liberal Party holds seats in Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax and a few smaller urban areas.

The Conservatives hold seats in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, rural Ontario, and rural maritime provinces.

They have the added wrinkle that the Bloc Quebecois holds rural French speaking areas.
