this is a LOT about that new Russian LNG pipeline vs. Nato-aligned frackers wanting Europe to buy their stuff instead. Since Germany is highly invested in the pipeline's success, and its main European beneficiary, it's been a little "weak" on supporting the fracking side. Shipping LNG via tankers across the Atlantic simply can't complete with a pipeline from Mother Russia.

So here we have, yet still again, another oil-based war 'a-simmering.

Sure wish we had embraced Conoco's brochure slogan from the 1970's:

"Someday we may realize that oil is much too valuable to burn."
