The 9 year old girl that was just on Velshi's show broke me

Last edited Sat Feb 12, 2022, 11:22 AM - Edit history (1)

Maybe because it was early, or I hadn't had my coffee yet, but Ali Velshi just interviewed a 9 year old girl who started "A Book and a Smile.org when she was just 4.

She now has a goal to give away 1 million books to one million kids.

I can't find the video clip of this interview, but I was almost sobbing when the interview ended.

What class!

What grace!

What a remarkable young person!

Maybe my reaction was because, with all the stuff going on that makes me think our country is lost and it's hopeless, she gave me a shining example of what we could be.

This person is the future. Now if only some of the old folks would step aside and allow people to do these types of things without having to put their 2 cent in.

Then the real book give away can commence!

Dolly sends my granddaughters three books every month.

My daughters pediatrician signed them up. They each get an age appropriate book every month, and then give them away to kids who come, with parents, to their garage sale in the summer.

These are good books, too. Literature, with lovely illustrations. I think it’s called “Imagination Library”, maybe.
