People are severing friendships over convoy protest, with some saying it shows 'true colours'

(CBC News) Langley, B.C., contractor Damian Conn says he can "agree to disagree" with friends who are opposed to vaccinations or believe in conspiracy theories and still maintain a relationship.

But when he realized he had friends who support the convoy protest in Ottawa — which is now entering its second week of demonstrations, snarling the nation's capital, to call for an end to vaccine mandates and other public health measures related to COVID-19 — those relationships ended.

He'd known some of those friends since high school.

"It seems like this convoy has brought out everybody's true colours with people you never would have thought had that certain close-minded train of thought," he said.

"I think I've unfriended, like, 100 people — and that includes some family," he said. " I won't even talk to them anymore." ................(more)

...South of the border, we still hear from those who have not been yet been able to break off relations after 5 years.

Family and longtime friends relationships severed. My husband has some TFG cultist family members and we all tiptoe around each other now and talk is constrained to weather and How Grandma’s doing. When she passes on, I doubt we will ever talk with them again

I was watching the view yesterday and the conservative woman who was on told of her father and stepmother not attending her wedding g because she parted with TFG and saw that he was a monster ( not her words mine).

I have lost a few friends and was shocked how they got sucked up In the cult.

The internet has been a blessing and a curse on us.

Vaccination rates in Canada are fairly high, certainly much higher than in the backwards United States. It's just a universal characteristic of people everywhere that we're exhausted from this pandemic but certain segments of the population are doing everything they can to prolong it.
