T-Mobile punching down at charity fundraisers
I didn't watch the game, but I do fast forward to the commercials, just to see what the marketing "experts" think will sell products and services.
T-Mobile had an interesting set of commercials. It was based on the type of Save The Children, Feed Starving Africans, blah-blah-blah celebrity fundraising appeals, and had Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus working on an appeal to "Do It For The Phones" since, apparently, phones are yearning to be connected to the T-Mobile network.
It was a pretty good insight into what these sorts of people actually think of celebrity-endorsement-as-charity-appeal kinds of publicity.
Both Parton and Cyrus pulled it off with convincing "sincerity".
But it really shows how the sentiment of these kinds of people wanting you to donate to save starving whomevers runs about as deep as Paris Hilton shilling NFTs on television. It buys goodwill for their brand, which translates to money in the bank.
