Meanwhile, Palin will likely pay her lawyers to file an Appeal, and the NY Times will have to pay theirs to respond once again.

6. I'm sure the NYT has good lawyers on staff, working full-time

Also I'm sure those lawyers would have settled it 5 years ago, if they thought they could lose the case. They knew they weren't gonna lose, so why rush it? Like others have said, Sarah Palin is dragging this to the Supreme Court to test the Sullivan ruling. That means somebody very wealthy is paying her lawyers' fees. This isn't for the money, it's for the glory of punching another hole in the Bill of Rights. (Or least trying to.)

with the same betrayals of trust and corrupt journalism they used to help elect tRump/Pence. Pursuing the same interests.

I'm also glad that she gets nothing -- not a 100th of the unpleasant truth was told that should have been. But I view this as more like a falling out among thieves once the interests that brought them together to elect Republicans diverged. Like CNN and tRump.

of Palin’s action (she sues, the Times counter sues). The case has already gone to the jury. Pleadings closed long ago.
