Former Republican official: ‘You can’t be a Christian if you don’t own a gun’

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/10/25/former-republican-official-you-cant-be-a-christian-if-you-dont-own-a-gun/

A former Executive Committee member of San Diego’s Republican Party, who now heads the Christian Anti-Defamation Commission, recently told Texas churchgoers that “you can’t be a Christian if you don’t own a gun.”

Speaking to the “Deliver Us From Evil” conference at the Upper Room Church in Keller, Texas earlier this week, Dr. Gary Cass explained that America had a “broken moral compass” because it regularly elected “politicians who could justify killing babies made in the image of God” and “justify redefining God’s institution of marriage.”

“You have not just a right not bear arms, you have a duty. How can you protect yourself, your family or your neighbor if you don’t have a gun? If I’m supposed to love my neighbor and I can’t protect him, what good am I?”

Here's a few of actual verses from the Old Testament these asshats like to get some of their theology from that apply to Dr. Cass:

Proverbs 18:2 A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

Proverbs 18:6 A fool's lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.

Proverbs 18 A fool's mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

Book of Armaments, Chapter 2, verses 9-21
...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O LORD, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." "skip a bit, brother"
... And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

You know the militia nuts are counting on the fact that none of us liberals will have guns. And you know they probably believe if our society collapses they will be able to just point a gun in our face and take whatever they want. I think when that day comes the're going to be surprised at how many of us actually do have guns.

most of the people there seemed to be pretty normal (what we would call "normal" here). I have to ask myself "where in the hell did these people today come from?"

It seems that they crawled out from under some primitive baptist church rock or something.

If you have never heard of a primitive baptist before, look it up. It will likely make you skin crawl.

He reminds me of my fundie former step dad, only more well spoken.

Step dad had colon cancer, had the cancer excised, post op infection, almost dies, becomes a super fundie after that. I am in college at the time (for EE) and he comes out with an armload of my semiconductor data books, which at that time were expensive and hard to get wanting to burn them because they were "satanic". I reminded him that the same components that were in those supposedly "satanic" data books were used in the machines that kept him alive in the hospital and that no he sure as hell could NOT burn my books.

This idiot turd speaking about Harvard in the 1600s being a virtuous school and now it is a bastion of evil. Hmmm... medical research that will probably save him when his head is removed from his ass..... a law school producing attorneys that may champion his causes, just to name a few. He likes to preach about how satanic the school is, but I sure bet he would be first in line if a treatment for an illness that he contracts were developed there.

They preach a good game, or at least what some would think is good, but in the end he is a hypocrite just like all of the other fundies out there.

Sorry for the rant... this guy got me pissed.
