...than they would in the winter months?
The Committee has announced that they would probably have their Jan 6 hearings in late April or early May. Although they do not wish to hurry the gathering of evidence, it will likely be less-watched in those months. Especially if it is not in prime time.
In my opinion, those folks that do not know what happened on January 6th, and before, will likely not be very interested when the hearings come. Those that care about our country and the threats to our democracy have mostly made up their minds already.
The timing probably does not matter. The goal is to get to the facts and tell people what they are and, if they don't want to listen, that is their choice. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

(21,336 posts)which indicted a lot of Big Fish, and even named Nixon as an unindicted co-conspirator. The only reason it didn't indict Nixon was because of the "memo" somewhere, which states you can't indict a sitting president.
Today, my belief is that memo has grown into, you can't indict a former president. (Just for DOJ) The states are doing their thing.

(30,613 posts)If Turd ever suffers any consequences, it will only be through the courageous efforts of people like Leticia James and Fanni Willis. DOJ will mop up a few horned helmet types and call it a day.
No matter what they find, the committee hearings will end up being nothing more than dystopian entertainment.
