Get A Load of this Drug Price - Part II

I saw someone comment about their ridiculous insulin prices earlier. Well, check this one out...

My 10 year old son has been diagnosed with Central Precocious Puberty (early puberty). His bone growth is already at 13 years, so the endocrinologist prescribed a medication called Lupron to slow his growth until his actual age is closer to his bone age. He would get a shot every three months. The cost of the first dose? $5000! Our yearly family deductible $6000. Not to mention the cost of my insurance through work went up about $1000/yr - TO STAY ON THE SAME PLAN.

Oh, but apparently there is a "coupon available" that will help lower the cost. ARE YOU FRACKING KIDDING ME??

And there are dumb M$^%^# Fu%$#@ out there who think the U.S. has the best healthcare system in the world.

I just want to throw up.

When I retired and went off of the university insurance and on medicare with supplimental policy I learned in a hurry about how expensive drugs can be. I had to change all of my prescriptions in order to not have an out of pocket of more than $1500 a month. I have the partD insurance but most of my meds were not on the "list" so it was a horrible out of pocket. With the changes it is now much much more manageable.

In a country like this one a person should not have to worry about how to pay for the drugs our children need in order for them to live a healthy life.

Health and education are not a priviledge they are a right. Why people are so damn afraid of "socialized medicine" I have no idea, they must have never been sick.

I can't imagine having a child in this position. Prayers for you and your son.

USSR = Socialism.
Government sponsored Health Care = Socialized Medical Care.
Thus Socialized Medical Care = Socialism.

See? Mr McCarthy lives on. A 1950's lying Rethuglican's disinformation lives on.

There are a lot of current ills in our culture that are the direct result of reTHUGlican disinformation going wayyyy back.

Thanks to Movement Conservatism (MC) they are being used as a club against Democracy today.

Women's' Rights. Voting Rights. Minority Rights. Healthcare rights. Education rights. All negatives for MC's.

2cd Amendment freedumbs. Ignorance. Teaching how to take tests rather then teaching critical thinking. White priviledge. All causes promoted by MC's.

The reTHUGlican Party has become a FRONT for bigots, racists, autocrats, authoritarians, and just plain stupid fucks.

Whoops there it is.

done anything about any of this? Biden is trying but being stymied. Years ago I went to a Canadian Pharmacy website to check prices on the drugs I was taking. One of them had no generic and was pricey as hell. So I plugged my drugs in and got an Email back showing the one drug was available in generic form. So I called them to say there is no generic for that drug. She said yes there is but that in the US the pharmaceutical companies were paying whomever to keep them off our market for sometimes 4 or 5 years. So that is how it goes in the 'best healthcare system in the world'. I was pissed.
