When people perish because they voluntarily entered a lion cage or tried to pet a cobra or

ignored evacuation warnings in the path of a category 5 hurricane, we may understandably believe them to have been either mentally I'll or just ignorant. An alternative we seldom discuss is that they were simply arrogant---the "not ME!"---attitude that allows then to think themselves too strong, too smart, too GOOD to suffer the fate their inferiors would.

I think a lot of the current PTB have a similar attitude about global climate change and I think it possible that the extreme hardships our grandchildren will have to endure will not be because my generation was ignorant; they will suffer because of our leaders' arrogance and our apathy.

We know what SHOULD be done. We are just refusing to do it because the attitude of too many in leadership is "I'll be dead by then"
