(3,858 posts)They know precisely what it costs to fill up their car, they know what a weeks worth of groceries costs, they know what it going to cost to take a family out to dinner at their favorite restaurant. My wife and I always play the over/under game with a friendly wager while standing in line for Costco and we are rarely off more than a few bucks. When those important variable costs in your life go up, you notice because they generally come right out of your expendable fun money for the week. It's a very important issue to just about everyone.
