I've had it with Republicans destroying America

We were never a perfect country. There was the horror of slavery, then Jim Crow, then McCarthyism, then Reaganomics, then Trumpism, and now, more Jim Crow. Face it. The Republican Party is comprised of some really nasty pricks, many morons who buy the shit they're selling, and American billionaire oligarchs who own them all. And they're aim is to steal our freedoms and own all the rest of us too.

Many of us know this. Virtually all of our elected Democratic leaders know this. And many Republicans know this and are laughing at our efforts to stop them. They're gobbling up our country, our freedoms, and the very concept of who and what we are supposed to be.

I don't know how much more blunt I can be, but they're doing everything they can to steal our country. And exactly what is it we're doing to stop them?

Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Merrick Garland: I know you are all doing everything humanly possible to defeat this fascist onslaught and save America. But isn't it time to let the rest of us in on exactly how you're fighting them and exactly how you're going to save us, our democracy, and our freedoms?

And one more thought. l defy anyone here on DU to call this post "defeatism." I'm damn worried and you should be too. Asking how our leadership is defending what we think of as America, is not "defeatism." And we should all be demanding an answer from them.

We play by the old set of rules, aka laws.

The other side does not.

The game is indeed rigged because one side threw out the rules and does whatever they can get away with.

It is asymmetrical warfare and we refuse to fight dirty.

Therefore we lose.

But keep on asking!

Historically, those who wanted to own everything, never adhered to any "rules." They did whatever they wanted to do and usually came came out on top. For a while.

Cave dwellers who learned to use rocks and clubs were the earliest "conquerors."

Greeks learned to unify to overcome others.

Alexander the Great got really good at being good at warfare.

The Roman Empire then raised war to an art form.

Napoleon wrote the book on how to dominate the world. (Well, except for the Russian winter.)

Germany and Japan wanted to own the world. But they ran into us.

And now, we have become what we fought. And there ain't no one coming to our rescue.

I guess that the only ones who can save us is ... us. Yet, for some incomprehensible reason, it's not happening.

Something has gone badly awry. I shudder to think that the disease called The Republican Party can bring fascism to bear on the people of America, and perhaps the rest of the world. If that's where the current "rules" lead us, what kind of fools are we?

I mean, really. We know we're being fucked. We know that our enemies are destroying our freedoms. We know that they consist of some of the most ignorant, malicious people imaginable. And yet, we aren't visibly fighting back.

Joe, Chuck, Nancy, Merrick, ... please tell me I'm wrong. Or at least tell me what you have planned to prevent total tyranny.

the sad fact that the evil has overtaken friends, relatives, and neighbors.

It is easier to believe that a foreign enemy exists. It becomes harder when they see evil in the eyes and actions of those they know.

They are, however, coming around.

what is happening to us. It will have us ready for sharpening pitchforks and building guillotines, by then It may be too late. We are on the path to mob rule by a minority of radical terrorists and we keep giving and giving ground. The half of the voting nation that identifies as Republicans is supporting the shift from democracy to terror, believing that, in the end, they will personally benefit. The actual result will be a former nation in ashes and at the mercy of our foreign enemies. We may well be witnesses to the final days of American Democracy; it is a honor I would rather avoid.

We are trying to be rational in an irrational world, we are too damn polite, it will be our downfall.

are you really going to let the Republican fascists destroy all of our freedoms?

Are you really unwilling to bend the "rules" that the Republicans have thrown out the window?

Do you really want to be the last democratic leaders of this country?
