you can't appeal from a discovery order because it's an interlocutory (not final) order - the only thing they could do is fail to show up for the deposition and then appeal from the contempt finding that would follow. It might be different in NY, though - we'll have to wait and see, but I'm sure they'll do whatever they can to avoid the depositions or at least drag out whatever the procedure turns out to be.

and the contents of the depositions might not become public, at least not right away. But the fact that this gang of thieves fights so hard to keep any kind of evidence from coming to light certainly suggests that they're hiding even more dirt than anyone knows about - yet.

it's an interlocutory state court ruling regarding discovery in a civil case. There's no constitutional question of national import. It might go to NY's highest appellate court, but no further.
