Trump's lawyer interrupted a hearing about the Trump Organization's finances to ask New York's AG to investigate whether Hillary Clinton spied on TrumpFormer President Donald Trump's attorney Alina Habba asked a lawyer from New York Attorney General Tish James' office whether they would "go after Hillary Clinton" in a hearing about whether the former president should be forced to sit for a deposition about his company's finances.
"I want to know, Mr. Wallace, Ms. James, are you going to go after Hillary Clinton for what she's doing to my client?" Habba said, referring to the attorney general of New York and Kevin Wallace, an attorney representing her in the hearing. "That she spied at Trump Tower in your state? Are you going to look into her business dealings?"
Judge Arthur Engoron stopped Habba's discussion of Clinton, saying they were irrelevant.
"The Clintons are not before me," he said.

(5,056 posts)Any lawyer would know "she did something else bad" isn't a legal defense and it's irrelevant to the case they are hearing. More performance art for the MAGA crowd and Fox News that has no legal standing whatsoever.

(54,499 posts)and it began in 2016 with the Steele Dossier. But they found out so little, and Trump won the election anyway. So I guess this is more about privilege and arrogance and entitlement than anything else. Pompous German ass.

(8,791 posts)a defense attorney tries to confuse the jury (in this case the judge) with nonsensical misdirection...her case is bullshit, has no merit, she's lost the judge so, hey, how about throw Hillary into mix, citing the bogus spy crap, and see if the judge bites...the judge didn't bite..
