Gonna go apeshit on next person that says 'I don't know if we can survive four more years of Obama'.

I keep hearing it from people that voted for Bush twice and I can't take it anymore.

How about, 'we fucking survived Bush, and the last four years of pain and suffering have been a result of his fucking policies, not Obama'.

And this is being written by someone that thinks Obama has been a disappointment.

How about you? What is the one thing you hear that makes you want to go Sleeping Dogs (video game reference) on someone's ass?

I don't get this either. I keep hearing from some of my FB friends that Obama's policies are disasters. They never give specifics.

I'm trying really hard to think of a particular disaster and can't come up with one. And all the economic numbers seem to be going in the right direction so there isn't really any economic disasters. Most of the world today prefers Obama to Romney so there isn't really any foreign policy disasters.

How can you go from 700,000 job loses per month to positive gains and call that a disaster?

Something in their brain isn't clicking correctly.

...blah blah blah...where are the jobs, there aren't any jobs..."

ALWAYS spoken by a Republicon. I just want to go ballistic on them!

They forget that the reason we're in this mess in the first place is because of the Bush years. They also won't acknowledge that their beloved GOPers in Congress haven't done anything to CREATE jobs, in fact they've done everything possible to PREVENT jobs from being created.

Then there's the deficit: "Obama has run up the deficit." Well, no, not really. The main reason for the huge deficit is the (temporary) Bush tax cuts, the two wars, and the pharmaceutical bill that became a cash crop for that industry, all thanks to George W. Bush, a Republicon.

Another one that really gets me is "Romney knows how to create jobs, he's a successful businessman..." Ugh. Have you heard about Sensata? Don't you think Rmoney is a hypocrite for condemning Obama for not creating more jobs when his company is at this very moment off shoring jobs to China?

I'm sick of it. I'm tired of hearing about the birth certificate, fed up with the smaller government crap when they want to start regulating women's reproductive systems. How's that going to work with smaller government? Seems that alone would require a whole new department. I resent extreme right religious beliefs being forced onto everyone else.

The people who say these things are either nuts, extremely uneducated, very bigoted, or full of hate. Or maybe a combination of all.

Sorry for the long post, but reading the OP struck a nerve this morning.

I heard Slick Willard make the claim that Obama was going to get the unemployment rate down below 6%. Then he dropped it to 5% IN THE SAME GODDAMN DAY. And, nobody even called him out on it. I never heard the President claim he was going to get the rates below any number, let alone 5% or 6%, depending on what time of day it is in RomneyWorld.

But, the one I detest the most is that the President is "stupid". That's a pretty amazing claim coming from the most stupid people in the universe.

while telling the public about unemployment? or why has your repug congresscritter taken stimulus funds, then spouts shite about the stimulus?

and, "well, you survived eight long nightmarish years of little boots-increased gas prices, lied us into a war, shoveled the treasury to his friends while we were slowly going down hill, labor was going down to the point that they attempted to call burger flippers manufacturing jobs, and while the middle class went down, his friends got richer-oh, and don't forget homeland security. I'd inform them "well, you lived through that nightmare with little boots stepping on the constitution, illegal wire tapping, condoning torture and now you're worried obama is taking your freedoms away? give me a break!!!!

nonsense. If I hear one more sanctimonious asshole explain to me that if I get violently raped I should joyfully accept it as God's will to bring a child into this world, I might get medieval on their ass. I was fucking stunned when Huckabee said it, now we have a bunch of these idiots saying it.

The ONLY way I'm going to get pregnant is to be raped, and I certainly want nothing to do with carrying the child of a rapist.

If someone says to you "I don't know if we can survive four more years of Obama," respond to them, "I know we wouldn't have survived four years under another Republican administration."

Do these people know how horrible things were in January 2009? They were terrible. And to continue the status quo (i.e. let's tax cut our way out of the recession) would have been disasterous for the country.

That the President has brought us back to pre-collapse levels slowly but steadily after the economy has bottomed out is quite an achievement. And no way would it have happened with a President McCain/Vice President Sarah at the helm.

Shit, it was 700,000 jobs lost each month at the end of the last Republican's term compared to 100,000 added now, and they have the nerve to tell me that they don't know how they've survived. It's beyond comprehension.

For instance, in the news today was info that Chrysler is adding 1100 to the North Jefferson plant (Jeep) and a third shift in a Warren plant.

I would be sarcastic and say something like "Yeah, all these new jobs in MI, GM is #1 again, bin Laden's dead along with other terrorists and the Iraq war is over, you're right, it's a fucking nightmare." And leave it there hanging, waiting for their reply. You could also add comments about people you know who can now get the health care they need thanks to Obama care (I personally know several people, including a cancer patient).

Beat them upside the head with facts. It works every time. If nothing else they will know better than to spout stupid shit in front of you.

My personal you-don't-want-to-go-there statement, "there's no difference between the parties". OMG, the epitome of stupid. On occasion I go easy on someone spouting that nonsense, but rarely.

It would be something like this.

'Yeah, those 700,000 jobs we're losing each month are devastating.'

'With Osama Bin Laden still alive and in charge I don't know if we'll ever stop Al Qaeda'

'Right, hopefully he won't start two more wars that killed thousands and lasted for years'

'Exactly, the two wars, tax cuts for the rich, and the great recession has exploded our debt and deficit.'

Something like that. Of course, only one of those responses is enough.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone.

Love you guys.

24. How can you honestly write that when you also think Obama's been a "disappointment?"
Sat Oct 27, 2012, 12:27 PM
Oct 2012

Sorry.. can't really understand how that works. You openly state that you think he's a DISAPPOINTMENT, then you chide others who complain that they can't take four more years of him. If that's how you feel about the President, then why is it such a stretch for you to believe that Republicans feel the way you do??

The only difference between you and those republicans is that you are willing to "suffer" through four more years of the "disappointment," they aren't.
