Nevada Dems sound alarm over 'single most vicious suppression attempt' yet by GOP

The Nevada Democratic Party and voting rights advocates sounded the alarm Thursday over a local Republican's proposal to station National Guard members at every polling place in the state's second-largest county, purge voting records, and impose new restrictions on mail-in ballots.

Calling up the Guard for extra duties is the call of the Governor of a state in the event of Natural Disasters, Civil unrest, as well as to protect against invasion from outside its borders, as well as to assist the greater Military community in time of war. NOT to oversee voting. Guard members are to remain apolitical when they are on duty. They take an oath to defend and uphold the US Constitution and the Homeland itself.

I’ll be interested to see comparisons of this primary with the last midterm primary. I suspect the numbers may be down, though the increase in both population and registrations could offset the voter suppression tactics. Democrats especially need to look at counties like Harris (Houston) to see the effect of the new laws. I suspect a lot of voter education will be needed because the mail ballot process has become needlessly confusing and the voter registration forms as well. When you have a rejection rate of both greater than 30%, you know the intended voter nullification is working.
