A guy I know claims two people were.

(102,200 posts)despite countless responses, including from Ottawa police discounting the claims. She has since "apologized" in Trump-style despite the damage done by keeping it up for nearly a full day.

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale noted on Saturday that the false story
was amplified by a number of other prominent people, including Sen. Ted Cruz, and has been retweeted more than 11,000 times.
Carters false story about a death was amplified by a number of other prominent people, including Sen. Ted Cruz, and has been retweeted more than 11,000 times. (The original false tweet remains online.) https://t.co/XUUQTVFZNg pic.twitter.com/iyVK6Dwvtg

Cruz soon after deleted his retweet because the journalist who first reported it now says it was in error.
I remain deeply concerned about the abuseseizing money & employing violence against peaceful protestersthat were seeing in Canada, Cruz added.

Fox News Contributor Admits to Creating Fake Story About Canadian Woman Being 'Trampled' to Death
After leaving up the bogus tweet for nearly a day, it was pulled down after a request for comment from The Daily Beast.
Fox News contributor Sara Carter has walked back her entirely fictitious claim about a woman dying after being trampled by a Canadian authority on horseback amid ongoing trucker-led protests.
While the claim wasnt accurate, the tweet was red-meat for her over 1.3 million conservative Twitter followers, who quickly amplified the baseless death as evidence of Canadian government wrongdoing.
Reports are the woman trampled by a Canadian horse patrol just died at the hospital ... #Trudeau #FreedomConvoyCanada, Carter, who purports to be an award-winning correspondent, tweeted Friday evening.
Shortly thereafter, conservatives picked up and amplified the tweet, including former Fox Nation hosts Diamond and Silk and Republican Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

(35,648 posts)Their lies show what they are sensitive about. In this case, the protest is over and no one was shot or killed.
Oh yes, a Canadian trucker who was unvaccinated died of Covid so his mother issued a plea to the trucker protesters to get the vaccine.
No seniors were knocked onto the pavement by police and left with a bleeding head.
Batons and pepper spray were used to clear protesters. Standard stuff at a BLM protest.
Not dramatic enough, so a made-up story seemed in order.

(1,384 posts)A collection of alt-right neo-Nazis, following the lead of fine folks like bannon, trump etc...grifting millions from the gullible. The Canadian government cut off their ability to cash in, now the leaders are stuck in jail, their bank accounts frozen, credit cards canceled.
If necessary, the Canadian cops will spend years investigating & charging those involved. Like the J6 folks, they streamed their crimes online for weeks.
This is all I could find. If true this is not right.

allegorical oracle
(2,357 posts)people may be knocked over if they don't move away from the path of a charging horse, but horses will do everything in their power not to step on a person who is on the ground. It's not that they care about the person; it's because they are sure-footed and avoid (by rearing, backing up, or jumping over) any object that could interfere with their safe footing.

(4,554 posts)in which a cavalry charge was halted by the enemy foot soldiers simply lying down on the ground in front of them. The horses would not step on them so refused to advance farther. May have been only a Hollywood fairy tale but(?).

Mounted police trainers have told me their hardest task is getting horses to walk over manhole covers in streets. The covers contrast with pavement and the horses sense it's hollow below them.

(50,260 posts)two protesters who refused to move were knocked down but got back up and moved away. No one was hurt including the horse that had something thrown at it (exactly what was thrown is still in question).

(118,273 posts)Ottawa police watchdog is interviewing a woman who says she was seriously injured by police. Some reports indicate she was the origin of the horse-trample-death story; others, that she was taken to hospital for a heart problem; and others, that she suffered a broken clavicle
I'm sure the Canadians can sort it all out, under their laws

(23,926 posts)The Fox contributor who made the initial claim has now walked it back. Even Ted Cruz, who in true Cruz fashion jumped all over this crap, has now disavowed it.
Plain and simple ... it didn't happen.
