MAGA Rioter Jenna Ryan Says She Was 'Tortured' in Prison Because She Couldn't Use Her Phone

Jenna Ryan flew to Donald Trump’s January 6th event on a private plane. The Texan claimed that she wouldn’t go to jail because she was white. Ryan was wrong, though, and was sentenced to 60 days in prison. The realtor said of her looming imprisonment, “The only thing that I can see that’s good about having to go to prison is that I’m going to be able to workout a lot, and do a lot of yoga and detox.”

Her time in jail, though, wasn’t as easygoing as she thought it might be. Not out of prison, Ryan tweeted this weekend, “I could not share any of this until now–now that I’m out of prison and the risk of torture is over. YES I was tortured in prison.”

When asked about the “torture,” Ryan responded, “They’re using COVID to sadistically abuse all the inmates and deny basic human needs like sunshine, phone, food. No human deserves what they’re doing in Federal Prison to every inmate. If people knew what was happening, there would be major reform action.”

Authoritarian conservatives like her believe crime should be punished harshly and can usually be counted on to oppose attempts to make prisons more humane or progressive. Coddling prisoners just encourages more crime.

Which is what had me chuckling, Walleye. She's "woke" enough to realize that most people would expect some call for "reform" to accompany complaints about her own tribulations.

(plus it improve morale, which makes life easier for the guards.) That's why the prison has a phone system set up for inmates to use (for a fee.)

i do think our prisons and jails do treat inmates horribly. As if just being locked up and deprived of the freedom to leave isn't punishment enough. what i'm talking about is not her experience however.
