Death & Taxes 2021 @ our house


Well in 2021 our immediate family had no deaths. There was one in our extended family.

Between our state and federal taxes, the total was about three months take home pay. Our refunds together are almost a months take home.

We filed electronically on the eleventh. We heard horror stories about the wait for refunds from paper filers last year. I hope it is only the standard three week wait on our Federal return. Last year the state wait was I believe about four months.

Our granddaughter just got her first ever pay check yesterday. A brand new tax payer @ 16 years of age. So her Social Security and Medicare deductions for her old age started. She was like...

I filed very early. Like within an hour of the numbers hitting my inbox it was filed.

I do feel guilty taking a refund though. I spend my money on so many frivolous things. What could the government have achieved with this money?
