If this US convoy happens, it will represent no one but the individual truckers who want to show off (we have no vaccine mandates for truckers in the US) and whoever is financially backing them.
And for the US to allow convoys that obstruct the public roads gives big rig truckers an enormous amount of power -- far more than most citizens. Simply because they drive outsized vehicles shouldn't give them an outsized voice.
From an article in early February:

There is no national vaccination mandate for truckers working within the U.S. but both Canada and the U.S. require proof of vaccination for truckers crossing the border.
The American Trucking Associations, a Washington-area group representing trucking companies, says it opposes potentially disruptive actions by truckers.
The trade group, which has taken part in legal challenges to a federal vaccine mandate strongly opposes any protest activities that disrupt public safety and compromise the economic and national security of the United States, ATA President Chris Spear said in a statement.
The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, a Grain Valley, Mo.-based group representing small trucking companies and independent truckers, has a similar position on national vaccine mandates and driver protests.

(15,322 posts)Don't fucking support and enable fascists. The vast majority of these fucksticks sit around listening to shit like Limbaugh (still dead) 24/7, support the fucking political party that has fucked them over for 40 FUCKING years because, I don't know...FREE-DUMB, and voted 70% for an orange dipshit with a shaved Golden Retrievers ass on his head.
They created this FUCKING monster. I hope a couple thousand of their trucks get confiscated and shredded for scrap metal.
Maybe the time to worry about the insane political movement they created was about 40 years ago.
When this blows up in their faces, it could not have happened to a more deserving collection of fascist Dipshits than national trucking organizations.

(5,682 posts)Only if the thing happened in their state and their state government deal with it could they. IF this happened in CA, and you had a KS CDL, CA can't revoke a KS CDL. 10th amendment and all that.
But, here in Arizona, there is no "break the law, lose your CDL" concept. Just if you're DUI or any crime dealing with alcohol or drugs, and driving.

(21,433 posts)Considering what happened the last time that RW supporters of Trump had a rally in DC, these truckers should not be allowed within 200 miles of DC.
We don't need an army of truckers with weapons and ammunition stored in their trucks entering DC like the ancient Greek Trojan Horse.
