Ruble wasn't looking good a few days ago.
Perhaps this planned event is why Putin was strongly pushing Crypto a few years back .

Also note that those goal posts are very vague/squishy. What exactly constitutes "destroying" the ruble or "crushing" the oil/gas sector? Whatever does happen, it won't be enough, he will always say it could/should have gone further in effect.
