War. How to wrap our heads around this mess, as it sits among so many other messes?

I feel like we are living in the most surreal of times.

Oddly, my wife and I decided to rewatch Ken Burns remarkable Vietnam - so we are immersed in watching and trying to understand that hellish war for a few hours each night. So many things really stick out - but we keep looking at each other each time the politicians spin the lies - lie after lie after lie - and death, and injuries. And for what?

And now, as the environment wages war on all of us for ignoring what is best for our earth, as an unseen virus wages war on the world (and all of the distortions and lies around THAT) - we have this emerging mess. And more lies.

I can't wrap my head around what this could possibly look like, how it unfolds, how it impacts all our our lives.

Once again I am reminded by Yeats' poem The Second Coming - and the line that Burns actually used for one of his episodes -
"Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold"
