Don't blame Slave Owners for Slavery.
Don't blame Nazis for the Holocaust.
Don't blame settlers & the US Army for the genocide of Native Americans.

JUST FOLLOW THE CURRICULUM. DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THE APPROVED CURRICULUM.

White Feewings could be hurt. Minds could liberalize.

Talk about absurd. No wonder Teachers all over this country are considering leaving the profession if they are not allowed to teach and lay the groundwork for critical and free thought.

We have our loons here but Jaysus, they are not (for the most part) totally batshit crazy. I take the above to mean that a teacher can not "discrimate" against Nazis, slave owners/traders...or any of the other historical "bad guys".

"All right, all you students of German heritage, you are personally responsible for the Holocaust," said no teacher anywhere ever. A very bad solution to a non-existent problem.

The point of learning about White Supremacy is to learn to recognize it, not just in society, but how it has shaped YOU as well. We're all steeped in it from birth despite our best intentions.

But History Teachers aren't conducting Anti-Racism Workshops. The moral crimes of history are self-evident, and children understand it implicitly.

Exactly. They don't want their children to learn these lessons at school before they've been taught to hate at home.

History is the study of cause and effect. Action and ramification.

Florida schools will never teach about Tulsa or Wilmington and the white terrorism directed against those successful and separate communities, but the events still happened.

The folks worried about being "blamed" are those still perpetuating and demanding white supremacy, you know, the racists.

Fearful, incurious, and angry is no way to go through life.

that white privilege exists in the here and the now.

And also that white privilege is slowly becoming codified into state laws by state's facing the concepts and consequences of simple equality and academic accuracy.

Can't have white students feeling that white history is anything less than righteous.

the ships themselves; other people blame space lasers; still others say other things. But in our lesson today, of course, we will not try to assign any blame for this tragedy. Sometimes bad things just happen, and nobody knows why"

And do we really need to be so judgemental on Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Mao ?

Genghis Khan was more misunderstood than anything.

South Carolina's firing on Fort Sumter was just the start of an extended period of legitimate political discourse.

Once you start, it's hard to stop. Not that Uglicans intend to stop.
