Allow me to introduce you to 18 US Code § 2383 - Rebellion or insurrection

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 808; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(L), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)

The point of posting this is not to argue that Trump, or Cawthorn, or Jordan or Giuliani or anyone else has violated the Statute. It's to point out that there IS a Statute, and that determinations as to whether someone HAS violated the Statute are up to the US Department of Justice and the Federal Courts, NOT State Secretaries of States or Election Boards. Nobody is going to get kicked off the ballot in 2020 until and unless a trial and conviction occurs.

Why tell us, Garland is the one that doesn't know about it. dem4decades Feb 2022 #1

I have no idea what charges are being pursued, and neither do you.

I can give it a try. 41 days ago the Michigan AG sent a criminal referral to her regional federal attorney re: the fake electors. A couple of weeks after that referral, Deputy AG Lisa Monaco made a public statement that DOJ was investigating the criminal referral. Since then, the select committee has subpoenaed numerous fake electors. If DOJ is pursuing the Michigan AG criminal referral, why is the select committee getting involved in an ongoing investigation?

How can TFG be investigated for the same thing in both civil and criminal investigations in NY?

But... We'll just keep ignoring that so Garland can be bashed.

Any court filings where people are fighting DOJ subpoenas? Any leaks from defense attorney's trying to pressure other potential witnesses? Anyone fighting FBI interviews or talking about interviews?

And please don't tell me DOJ doesn't acknowledge investigations, it doesn't have to be their leaks.

It is more a messaging effort than anything, puts candidates like this in very uncomfortable situations.
