9. That's the thing, it's no longer "the party of Reagan."

I was in the USSR back in the late '80s, went with my grandmother and her peace group, they had a "sister town" there. It was just before Reagan was to meet Gorbachev in Reykjavík and people were very apprehensive. Reagan was so tough on the Russians that the hardliners came down on Gorbachev's more progressive policies. I remember meeting one older woman who had served as a nurse during WWII and she said "Please, when you go back, tell your president that we want peace." Still chokes me up to remember...
