Questions here for our smart members!

I heard russia stockpiled trillions of dollars to prepare for the sanctions. Now, How would they disperse the money? Plus is it possible for us to completely disrupt the banking systems there, that would cause MAJOR problems there? I would love to completely shut down their money movement!!

But I read a couple days ago they’d stashed 5 billion, though I don’t know what form. Certainly shutting down electronic banking would be a huge blow to them. I’ve heard Joe plans to block them from the main international system, but Russia has developed their own system. Don’t know how well it works.

Their GDP is $1.7 trillion. With an asset base of $4.2 trillion, or 2.5x GDP. The asset base of the US is nearly $300 trillion. The same ratio is 14.
There's $88 billion in free capital. So, velocity is around 19.5. In the US, it's over 30.
So yeah, they're over $900 billion short of a trillion! With a far less vibrant economy!
Even that $5 billion you're talking about is a lot for them.
Also, if the five billion is true, that's just a bit over 1 day of GDP. Doesn't seem like much a buffer against sanctions.
