I think some are getting mixed up between New York County judge and SDNY

The former, Alvin Bragg, was elected last year to be New York County judge.

The current United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York is (Andre) Damian Williams Jr.

((So DON'T push the panic buttons yet about today's developments.))

He was elected to replace Cy Vance. He took over the criminal investigation into TFG's company.

SDNY isn't involved in this case.

The NY State AG is investigating (and soon deposing) TFG's family for a civil case.

The Manhattan DA's office, formerly headed by Cy Vance, has been investigating the Trump Org. for alleged fraudulent business practices, but two of its top prosecutors suddenly resigned. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/23/nyregion/trump-ny-fraud-investigation.html This is concerning because the US attorney for SDNY, the federal prosecutor, isn't involved in a Trump investigation. However, another investigation by Letitia James, the NY State AG, is ongoing and is related to tax evasion.

Bragg was elected as the New York County District Attorney, becoming the first African-American and the first person of color elected to that office. Wikipedia

Bragg has previously served as chief deputy attorney general of New York and as an assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York.

In June 2019, Bragg announced his candidacy for the 2021 Democratic Party nomination for New York County District Attorney, a position that was then held by Cy Vance.[9] Vance opted not to run for reelection.[11] Following the June 22, 2021, Democratic primary, Bragg led all candidates in the reported vote count. Tali Farhadian Weinstein conceded the primary to Bragg on July 2.[12] On November 2, 2021, Bragg defeated Republican Thomas Kenniff in the general election. He is the first African-American to be elected New York County District Attorney.[2]

Bragg was sworn into office on January 1, 2022.[13] On January 4, he announced that his office would no longer prosecute low-level offenses such as fare evasion, resisting arrest, prostitution, and cannabis-related misdemeanors unless accompanied by a felony charge. He also announced that his office would seek lesser charges for burglaries and store robberies where the offender "displays a dangerous instrument but does not create a genuine risk of physical harm".[14] On January 20, Bragg disputed what he described was a "legalistic" interpretation of his prosecution policy memo and indicated that he supported a zero tolerance policy for violent crimes.[15]

New York County
So what county is Manhattan in? Unsurprisingly, that would be New York County. In fact, each of New York City's five boroughs corresponds to its own county: Manhattan = New York County.Oct 8, 2021

Bragg is the new Manhattan DA, (not a county judge) whose office has been pursuing a criminal investigation of Trump and his organization. His top two lead prosecutors resigned today.

Leticia James is the NY state AG, who is pursuing a civil case against Trump for fraud.

SDNY is federal and has nothing to do with this story.

you've got it all wrong. Bragg is the new Manhattan DA, not a judge, and there does seem to be a problem because two of his top prosecutors who were working on the Trump case just quit. The SDNY has nothing to do with any of it. Maybe there's no cause to panic, but there is cause to wonder WTF is going on.
