As I listen to the opinions being voiced about "how far Putin will go", I am struck by

how many times those who expressed fear of a massacre,---a slaughter, an extermination, a genocide---were quieted by the assurance that "they just wouldn't DO that!"

Those who are convinced that reason will always triumph over whatever monsters arise should review photos of Hitler's ovens and Pol Pot's "killing fields".

One does not negotiate with monsters. One does not forgive them or give them quarter.

Monsters must be destroyed.

... for all the negotiations that resulted in the Ukraine giving up it's nukes. It would be all too tempting to use them either now, or in several days if things really go south.

Of course, I am sure that many in the Ukraine would disagree with me right now, and I do not fault them for that.

How does one stop the monster without really risking nuclear war?

Next, Georgia. Then, on the other side of the planet, China seizes Taiwan. Then back to Putin and Europe, will it next be Poland, Latvia, Estonia? France?

I hate this.

this russian crap actually impedes China from moving on Taiwan. They will be seen as another russia, with the worlds eyes focused on them and Taiwan, which they don't want.

China will start giving Russia Crap as soon as this crap starts rocking their economy. China supplies the world with a ton of things, and that is what their economy and Government depends on. If Russia screws that up, they will certainly come out against Russia....

Maybe I am wrong, but the world is beginning to join together about this. Of course that is with the exception of Trump praising Putin,
and the dimwit talking heads at Fox news doing the same.......

Where did all the anti-communist, pinko hawks in the Republican Party go to??????????????

Putin is a sociopath. Unlike Trump, who is also a sociopath, Putin is an organized one. He's who Trump wishes he was.

I would hope that someone in the circle of Russian power steps up and removes the threat that is unfolding due to Putin.

The ugliest part of Trump's heritage is the demonstration that even an incompetent can get away with a lot if he is sufficiently brazen. Those of us who believed "America is better than that" should be concerned.
