Can I STRONGLY suggest that people think about what they're posting...

Case in point: "Russian troops have seized Kiev Airport." There is no reputable news source reporting this. There ARE plenty of people and obscure websites repeating this story. Let's not join in. There are plenty of news items from responsible news sources to focus on.

While that may or may not be accurate in the fog of war, it is what is being reported

It has also been reported that Ukraine says missles have targeted the airport.

It has NOT been reliably reported that Russian troops have seized the airport.

But that is not the same as taking over the airport with troops. Kyiv is under missile attack.

CNN reported that an Advisor to the Ukraine Ministry of the Interior reported the missles were targeting the airport. They have NOT reported that the airport has been taken. If Russian troops were on the ground IN KIEV, that would be the top story on every network.

Any time there's a crisis people start assuming facts not in evidence because they want so desperately to know what's going on, even though there's usually no way to know for sure in the moment. It's frustrating to have to wait for credible news but that's what we have to do.

I pay little attention to information if I don't know the origin of the assertion. If possible, I prefer to provide the source's words, voice, and face.

If you go to Twitter, there's plenty of video of explosions in the dark. I've chosen not to post them because I can't confirm when or where they come from.
