(15,278 posts)Maybe WH comms doesn't want to step on the SOTU on Tuesday night, but while their won't be a physical cost to the US, there will be plenty of economic pain as the cost of oil and gas is going to skyrocket like it did during the Arab Oil Embargo of the late 70s. This will just ripple through all sectors of the US economy on top of the pandemic-related price increases and spot goods and services shortages.
Americans need to understand and be prepared for more sticker shock. Giving a speech at noon that few will hear won't do that.
