When your military is going to be over powered by your enemy's military, you have to use whatever leverage and means you can. You really have nothing to lose that you are not going to lose.

the Pentagon havent considered any military options. It isnt like they have entire departments doing war game simulations and contingency planning.
Unfortunately there is basically nothing direct we can do to stop Russia in Ukraine.
