The full attack on UKR will begin in about a week after larger cities are emptied of people.

Like all other evacuations of large areas there will be 10% of the people can't leave in a week, those people being killed or suffering isn't going to help Putin's cause.

There will be enough Ukrainians staying to fight and at first they will be effective at blooding Putin's nose.

I think Putin's attack on UKR will be worse than Afghanistan, Iraq or Nam cause Europe is fully behind UKR and Ukrainians are united as a nation against Putin ... or will be VERY VERY VERY soon.

From interviews I see of people in Russia and the reaction of UKR I see people in shock, anger and vitriol will come later.

Putin screwed up, big time

before Putin's forces finalize the 'grab' and close the border. I'd hate to see Zelenski in Putin's clutches.

He will be basking in the Glory of the return of the great Soviet Republic for a while. The problems with the Putins, Hitlers and Trumps of the world is that they never know when to stop while they are ahead. (alive) Putin is all in gambling that the West will make no positive moves to stop his expansionism, it remains to be seen if he is right. Putin is a standard evil bastard who believe that diplomacy begins with the movement of tanks; may he who lives by the gun die by the gun.

You can bet, that deep within the bowels of the Kremlin, the plans for the next victim are being made. History is a great teacher of the future. It may be that we are about to relive the history of the last century. We need to figure out a way to skip the Chamberlain chapter. A Sitzkrieg, while feeling good, will not produce any better results than it did the last time. Putin does not need to be allowed the chance to digest Ukraine in peace and use their resources to continue his feast on Eastern Europe.

Putin's health needs to decline dramatically and rapidly.

However, Ukraine is not a remote state filled with non-Christians who don't look like most ethic Russians or share cultural habits. Ukrainians are like cousins, with family members all across the old Soviet regions.
The Tartars in Crimea aside, most Russians probably couldn't tell the difference between someone from Kyiv and someone from Moscow at first glance. It's going to raise questions with the average Russian more than attacking Chechnya separatists which could have been easily explained away as fighting anti-Christian Russia or Islamic terrorism.
Just my two cents.

... they have family in UKR.

I don't see how the blow back is going to help Putin's cause of occupying UKR with a puppet government which is the BEST outcome he could have.

I'm not even sure Putin's dumb ass stops at UKR ... he's just really stupid

It looks like he just pushed a button and didn't think shit through
